Remove Background & Create Transparent GIF

A transparent GIF is an animated image format that supports transparency, allowing the background to show through. Unlike standard video, GIFs don't require a video player - they display like images in browsers, apps, and social media.

Technical specifications:

• Format: GIF89a (with transparency)
• Colors: Up to 256 colors per frame
• Transparency: Binary (pixel is either transparent or opaque)
• Animation: Multiple frames with adjustable timing
• Audio: Not supported
• Compression: Lossless (but limited color palette)

Key limitation: GIFs only support 256 colors, so they work best with simple subjects and short clips. For full color, use WebP or WebM instead.

Solutions for better quality:

• ✅ Avoid complex color gradients
• ✅ Or use WebP format instead (full color support, still widely compatible)

For full color support with transparency, consider WebP or WebM formats.

For best quality and file size, keep GIFs under 10 seconds:

Recommended lengths:

• ✅ 1-3 seconds: Perfect for reactions, emoji, stickers (~500KB-2MB)
• ✅ 3-6 seconds: Good for short loops, memes (~2-5MB)
• ✅ 6-10 seconds: Maximum recommended length (~5-15MB)
• ⚠️ 10-20 seconds: Large files, may not upload to some platforms (~15-30MB)
• ❌ 20+ seconds: Very large, poor quality, use video format instead

Why shorter is better:

• File size: GIFs get large quickly (1-2MB per second)
• Quality: More frames = worse color palette optimization

Pro tip: If your video is longer than 10 seconds, consider:

Transparent GIFs make excellent custom emoji and stickers:

Slack Custom Emoji:

1. Download your transparent GIF
2. In Slack, click your workspace name → Customize [Workspace]
3. Go to Emoji tab → Add Custom Emoji
4. Upload your GIF, give it a name (e.g., :my-animation:)
5. Click Save
6. Type :my-animation: in any message to use it

Discord Custom Emoji/Stickers:

1. Download your transparent GIF
2. Go to Server Settings → Emoji
3. Click Upload Emoji
4. Select your GIF, name it
5. Click Save
6. Use in messages with :emoji-name:

Telegram Stickers:

1. Download your transparent GIF
2. Message @stickers bot on Telegram
3. Send /newpack to create new sticker pack
4. Upload your GIF files
5. Add emoji tags
6. Share your sticker pack

Size recommendations:

• Slack emoji: 128x128 or 512x512 pixels, under 5MB
• Discord emoji: 128x128 pixels recommended, under 256KB for animated
• Telegram stickers: 512x512 pixels, under 500KB
